Free Summer Fun in NOLA

School is out, and the kids are ready for fun and enriching activities. Having Fun this summer doesn’t have to break the bank! There are many free activities our city has to offer that the kids are sure to enjoy.


 

Here’s what’s happening:


 
•Thanks to The Helis Foundation for providing free admission for all Louisiana residents at the following local institutions


 
Contemporary Arts Center - Free on Sunday’s

New Orleans Museum of Art- Free on Wednesday’s

New Orleans Botanical Gardens - Free on Wednesday’s

Ogden Museum- Free on Thursday’s


 
Louisiana Children’s Museum- Free the Second Sunday of every month


 


Audubon Nature Institute generously provide Orleans Parish appreciation Days on the following dates


 
Aquarium Days- June 2nd, July 7th, August 4th

Zoo Days- June 16th, July 21st, August 18th


 
*One proof of residency can gain admission for up to four guests!


 


•New Orleans Recreational Department (NORD) events


 

Movies in the park

Movie goers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Movies begin at sunset, between 6:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., and will be moved indoors if there is rain. Registration is required.


 
Superhero Family Fun Walk

Friday, June 24, 2022

This 1-mile walk/run is for youth of all abilities between the ages of 4- 18. Get the kids dressed as their favorite superhero and ready to have fun!


 


New Orleans Public Library hosts several free activities throughout the summer such as

Story-times

Summer Stems

Teen Drawing Workshops

Cooking in the Kitchen teen program with Liberty’s Kitchen

Solder with Electric Girls

Wild Visitors from the Zoo


 

And we can’t forget their Summer Reading Program! After signing up, kids and teens can head to their local Library location to pick up one free book as a registration prize.


 



 
New Orleans City Park


 
Visit the Sculpture Garden for free all summer long or enjoy one of their fun Scavenger Hunts

Scavenger Hunt ages 2-4

Longue Vue Garden hosts Family Sunday Free of charge the first Sunday of every month.


 


•Don’t forget you can also Visit Arnaud’s Mardi Gras Museum for Free this Summer


 


•Tour the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park Free all summer.


 


Move Ya Brass will be hosting Free dance and yoga classes all summer!
